The Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) has always been more than just a school. It is a living institution of heritage, a place where generations of young men have been shaped into leaders, thinkers, and changemakers. This year, the launch of MCKK’s commemorative book entitled “Breaking, But Not Broken” by Ghazally Ismail, Ahmad Ibrahim, and Hisham Badrul Hashim was not merely an event; it was a celebration of memory, identity, and the enduring spirit of education.
A Gathering of Legacy

The book launch was held at Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad on the 8th of August 2026. Alumni, educators, and partners gathered in a spirit of camaraderie, reflecting on the school’s journey and its role in shaping Malaysia’s future.
It was here that Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, the Sultan of Perak and Chairman of the Board of Governors, reminded everyone of the profound responsibility carried by MCKK and its alumni. His words resonated deeply:
“MCKK is not just a school. It is a trust, a heritage, and a responsibility. Every student who passes through its gates carries with him the weight of history and the hope of the future.”
These words framed the launch not simply as a ceremonial occasion, but as a call to action, to honour the past while preparing the next generation for the challenges ahead.
MZR’s Role in the Celebration

MZR Group’s presence at the launch was both practical and symbolic. From professional coverage to logistical support, our involvement reflected a longstanding partnership with MCKK. But our contributions went far beyond the day itself.
On behalf of the MCKK Foundation, we proudly published “The MCKK Series: A Collection of Paintings on The Malay College Kuala Kangsar by Haron Mokhtar”. This work immortalizes the College’s architecture and spirit through art, offering future generations a visual narrative of its heritage.
We also orchestrated the launching gimmick and managed the technical aspects of the ceremony, ensuring that the event unfolded seamlessly and with the dignity befitting MCKK’s traditions.
Recognising the importance of sustainability in the digital age, MZR built mckkfoundation.org, a platform that not only showcases the College’s initiatives but also powers its endowment fund collection and e-commerce system. This digital infrastructure ensures that MCKK’s mission can thrive well into the future.
And just as we have supported the MCKK Premier 7s rugby tournament since its inaugural game in 2011, we continue to stand alongside the College in initiatives that celebrate education, resilience, and community spirit.
For us, this was never about corporate visibility. It was about contributing to a story larger than ourselves – a story of heritage, responsibility, and hope.
Voices of Gratitude and Vision

The launch also featured reflections from distinguished figures. Tan Sri Tajuddin spoke of the unique opportunities MCKK provides to every student, while Datuk Dr Azam, a member of the Board of Governors, emphasized the importance of sustaining the institution’s traditions while adapting to modern needs.
But it was Sultan Nazrin’s reminder that lingered most:
“The true measure of MCKK’s success lies not in its buildings or its ceremonies, but in the character of its students – men who will serve with integrity, lead with wisdom, and remember always the values instilled here.”
These words echoed the very ethos MZR Group strives to uphold in our own work – empowering youth, preserving heritage, and fostering leadership rooted in values.
Looking Forward Together

For MZR Group, supporting the MCKK Book Launch was more than a corporate gesture. It was a reaffirmation of our belief that education and heritage are the twin pillars of progress. Just as we have championed sports and community initiatives, we remain committed to backing projects that inspire future leaders and preserve the stories of the past.
As we look ahead, we hope to continue strengthening our partnership with MCKK, ensuring that both the legacy of yesterday and the dreams of tomorrow are celebrated, shared, and lived.
In the words of Sultan Nazrin:
“Heritage is not a relic of the past – it is a living guide for the future.”
And it is in that spirit that MZR Group proudly stands with MCKK, honoring legacy while inspiring futures.
